In January 2010, Superintendent Chris King convened a new committee to provide him with input and ideas regarding BVSD’s annual operating budget, as well as short and long term budget planning. Called the "BVSD Budget Advisory Committee" (or "BAC"), this committee is made up of 31 people, 15 of whom are “at large” members representing local business, civic organizations, non-profit organizations, parents, and interested community residents. These "at large" members applied to be part of the committee. The other 16 members have been drawn from local government, higher education, BVSD employee associations or working groups and BVSD’s primary community partner, Impact on Education. The committee held its first meeting January 6, 2010.
