SharePoint 2010 Training
SharePoint 2010 classes are available through the BVSD IT department. 
Registration in Avatar is required.

Introduction to BVSD Teacher Websites (SharePoint)
Prerequisites:  An understanding of basic computer functions (how to use the mouse and keyboard). 
This class provides an introduction to the SharePoint teacher website template.  Students will learn to navigate through their websites; change titles, contact details and images; create folders and upload documents; add and edit homework and assignments; and add events to a calendar.
 
 
SharePoint  Level 1
Prerequisites:  Basic computer skills, Word Level 1 or comparable experience.
This is an introductory SharePoint class for BVSD staff who are responsible for maintaining a school or department website.     Key elements of a SharePoint website will be introduced.  Topics include basic navigation, adding and editing web parts, uploading documents and images.  Participants should bring or have access to documents and images they will use on their sites. 
 
SharePoint Level 2
Prerequisites:  Basic computer skills; successful completion of SharePoint Level 1
This is an intermediate level SharePoint class for BVSD staff who are responsible for maintaining a school or department website.     It is also appropriate for content editors.  We will build on the elements that were introduced in Level 1.   Topics include creating navigation links, new pages and sub-sites and working with SharePoint lists to create calendars, announcements and staff contact information lists.   Participants should bring or have access to documents and images they will use on their sites. 
 
SharePoint Level 3
Prerequisites:  Successful completion of SharePoint Levels 1 and 2
This is an advanced level SharePoint class for BVSD staff who are responsible for maintaining a school or department website.     It is also appropriate for content editors.  Building on concepts and skills learned in SharePoint levels 1 and 2, we will introduce custom lists, creating views, permissions and managing the content and structure of a site.
 
SharePoint Open Lab
Prerequisites: Participants must have completed SharePoint:  Introduction to the Teacher Website or SharePoint Level 1.
The open lab provides an opportunity for participants to gain confidence and experience while working independently on their SharePoint websites.  Instructors are available to answer questions and provide guidance.  There is no formal presentation.  You must already have a SharePoint website and register through Avatar.
