Dear Parents of Eisenhower Students,
First of all, I hope you all have a wonderful summer! It is going to be a quick one!
We will be having our Early Assessment Days again this summer. This is a time for students to meet their teachers and to show us some of their reading skills. Here is the sequence of events:
- Class lists will be posted after 9:00 on Monday, August 4th. Hopefully, we will have the bus schedules at this time as well.
- Sign-ups for early assessment times will be posted in the hallway near the office starting August 4th and will be up through Thursday, August 7th. Sign-ups will be for a twenty minute individual session in all grades except third. 3rd grade will have 1 ½ hour sign ups for six students at a time. (3rd will be piloting a new, district supported, assessment tool.)
- Early assessment days will be on Thursday and Friday, August 14th and 15th from 8:30-2:00 in the classrooms. This is a student and teacher time. Parents would wait in the hallways and the teachers will call the students in to be assessed.
- During the assessments, parents can meet in the gym for coffee and visiting. There will be PTA tables set up with grocery certificate forms, T-Shirt sign up, etc.
- Our first day of classes for grades 1 through 5 will be Tuesday, August 19th. Kindergarten students will be on a staggered start and kindergarten parents will get letters in the summer detailing the process. If you have purchased school supplies through the PTA, the supplies will be in your child’s classroom by the first day of school.
Back to school nights will be scheduled as follows:
- Monday, 8/25—3rd, 5:30-6:30
- Tuesday, 8/26—2nd, 5:30-6:30
- Wednesday, 8/27—K, 5:30-6:30 and 5th 6:30-7:30
- Thursday, 8/28—1st, 5:30-6:30 and 4th, 6:30-7:30
We are looking forward to a great new school year!
