Paraeducators at Title I Schools must satisfy the following two requirements to meet the mandates of No Child Left Behind.

1.  Basic Skills

• Two years of college - 48 credits from an accredited institution of higher learning

OR

• An associate's degree from a community college or university (not a technical school)

OR

• Pass the ACT WorkKeys test in math, reading, and writing

2.  Instructional Skills

• Hold a teaching certificate

OR

• Participate in four instructional skills classes offered by BVSD: Instructional Strategies, Literacy, Math, ESL Methods
