Mercury Communication Device Information 
  • 2 USB ports – one for mouse, one additional for printer, etc.

Speaking Dynamically Pro (SDP)

  • Can use sample boards on main menu, can adapt and save, or can make custom boards/pages
  • Voices: Digitized or Microsoft. Can use a preview voice for verbal cues to augment visual selection.
  • Can set preview voice quieter or in a different voice than speaking voice.
  • Programming: [Dynamic boards], [design & use]
  • Volume: can adjust from task bar at bottom and can also control somewhat from SD menu [dynamic boards],[speaker volume]

Word processing in SDP

  • window becomes a “message file” and can be named and saved. The window will wrap and can be as long as you need.
  • Can print from the typing page/board and will print as a word processing document.
  • To use abbreviation expansion, go to Dynamic boards, design boards, dynamic boards menu, abbreviations and enter a.

To launch programs with SDP buttons, go to [dynamic boards], [design mode], [new board], put in cells (buttons), add in symbol, adjust font size, change borders, shapes, etc.,

Then double click and will go into SDP to put in message.

Choose [cool stuff], [launch application], choose the application from the available menu. You can only do this with applications that have shortcuts put into the SDP menu.

To copy a button, in design boards menu, open a board or template, go to [design boards], select the button, [edit], [copy], puts on clipboard, take to new board/page and [paste]

Random feature is under design mode, double click desired button, [cool stuff], [random]

ECU:  Launcher (task bar), [setup], [remote control], setup TV, VCR, etc.
