BVSD believes in green building and the benefits of integrating sustainability concepts into our daily operations. It is good for our kids, the environment and the bottom line. The Bond Program has provided us with a great opportunity to expand our current practices and employ new and innovative strategies. In the 2006 bond issue ballot language the district committed to implementing cost-effective, environmentally-friendly and energy efficient design and construction strategies.

In 2009, the Bond Program developed a report which details the green building techniques used in projects in the first phase of the BVSD Bond Program.
