The new Colorado Academic Standards, which are adapted from the 2009 National Common Core State Standards, have shown the need for clarity, coherence, and consistency in mathematics education from pre-kindergarten through post-secondary education. Using the five questions noted below, we are identifying best practices in teaching, providing professional development and support for the consistent use of these practices, and then implementing them in classrooms to ensure that students receive the best mathematics education available. This website provides resources for all members of the BVSD Mathematics education community – students, teachers, administrators, parents and members of the greater community at large.
