Leaving your office over spring, summer or winter break? Here are some TIPS for giving the earth a break too!

• If you or your office mates or fellow teachers use a refrigerator, clean it out and unplug it while you are away.
• Make sure any unused electronic equipment, excluding computers, are turned off and unplugged.
• Turn off lights as you leave the building at the end of the day.
• Enable power management features on all computers and electronics. Note: screen savers do not save energy!
• As you prepare for the end of the year clean up, please be mindful of what you put in the trash. Many of the items left in lockers and classrooms can be reused or recycled. There are organizations willing to partner with our schools to help collect reusable items and will, for example, donate them to schools in need.
