Substitute Teacher Information


We are no longer hiring substitute teachers for the 2017-18 school year, we will post the position for the 2018-19 school year in July.

Please be aware of the following requirements (effective July 1, 2016) if recommended for hire.  Pending final approval of hire, applicants will be required to provide fingerprints for a background check. Upon hire, employees must complete a new hire packet.  The fingerprint processing fee of $39.50 will be deducted from the employee’s first two paychecks.

All substitute teachers in the Boulder Valley School District must hold a current Colorado teaching license or a Colorado Substitute Authorization of three or five years, issued by the Colorado Department of Education, and a bachelor's degree. The rate of pay for the current school year is $100.00 per day, and $55.00 per half day.

If you wish to apply for a regular contracted teaching position, and in the interim also wish to be considered for substitute teaching, you can apply for both a regular licensed position and a substitute position at the same time.
