Angevine Middle School

 Welcome!

Welcome to Angevine Middle School!

AMS is a student-centered middle school with an emphasis on academic achievement for all students. We offer a rich and challenging curriculum that has comprehensive support built in. Angevine is unique in that we offer a pre-engineering program, which feeds into the Centaurus High School engineering track, an award winning visual and musical arts program, and new technology built into every classroom in order to foster the success of the 21st century learner. At Angevine, we feel that addressing the needs of the whole child by including creative and enriching experiences is essential to a comprehensive curriculum. Our talented teaching staff engages in data-driven professional learning communities that focus on student achievement and school goals. We offer a multitude of opportunities for students to become culturally competent global leaders who will be well prepared to be 21st Century Graduates.

All of our students are on grade level teams supported by content area teachers who collaborate to provide an integrated approach to delivering standards-based curriculum. Each grade level is supported by an administrator and a counselor who get to know the students and their families quite well over a three year period. We have a seven period schedule, and students attend a grade level lunch.

On Wednesdays, when there is a full-week of school, Angevine runs a Late Start Wednesday. Students attend all seven periods for a shortened period of time. Teachers engage in data-driven dialogue about best practice using data from frequent common formative and summative assessments. Students are welcome to attend before school programming on Late Start Wednesdays, or they may come to school at 9:45am.

At Angevine we are committed to relationships which support academic and social achievement. We have an extensive bullying prevention program, an active Student Council and a supportive PTA. Our School Improvement Team is made up of administrators, teachers and community members who are all invested stakeholders in our children’s future.

The best way to truly experience the Angevine community is to come for a visit!  We know you'll find it to be a welcoming place where high student achievement and a real sense of belonging go hand-in-hand!

Sincerely,
Mike Medina - Principal

 About Our School

Angevine Middle School is a neighborhood school in Lafayette, CO. We serve grades six, seven and eight by offering a challenging and rigorous academic curriculum that is supported comprehensively throughout the school.

At Angevine we practice a true inclusion model of middle level education. Our special education program is designed to support as many of our students with special needs as possible within the regular programs. We aim to correct or mitigate these students’ learning problems with appropriate individual instruction.

Talented and Gifted students are offered encouragement through an enrichment program which provides acceleration options. Through our close ties with Centaurus High School, we are even able to offer qualified students the opportunity to take high school courses. These students, like all of our students, are treated as individuals with their own potentialities and aspirations, strengths and weaknesses.

Apart from knowledge, of course, we believe that the most valuable asset that Angevine students can carry with them into high school and on into college is an enthusiasm for learning. We are privileged to have the teaching staff, the administrative staff, and a parent body dedicated to fostering constructive enthusiasm.
