Four elementary schools feed into the programs at our school: Lafayette Elementary School, Pioneer Bilingual School, Ryan Elementary School, and Sanchez Elementary School. Most of our students go on to Centaurus High School upon completion of the eighth grade.
At Angevine, we consider our school to be a true neighborhood school, representing the entire Lafayette Community. Angevine serves grades six through eight, offering a rigorous academic curriculum with a comprehensive support system. More specifically:
- Seven-period Academic Day — Angevine is a true middle school that organizes students into grade level teams of content teachers and support staff who collaborate to offer a comprehensive system of tiered interventions to address the full range of student needs.
- Special Education — We offer a resource program that aims to support as many students with special needs in the regular program as possible, while aiming to correct or mitigate students’ learning challenges through direct instruction where appropriate.
- Electives — We offer electives in art, computers, media publications, music, world languages, outdoor adventure, drama, and creative writing.
- Literacy — Angevine is part of the National Literacy Project, which encourages the use of research-based strategies school wide to promote student success.
- Math —Angevine offers several math courses, including standard and accelerated tracks, as well as math support classes for students who need additional instruction and intervention.
- TAG (Talented and Gifted) Programs — We have a TAG teacher/coordinator who works individually with families to make sure that all students are stretched and encouraged to be their personal best. This includes special programs and activities designed to meet the needs of gifted students.
