Centennial Middle School takes great pride in providing a foundation of solid academic excellence for students within a caring and nurturing environment. Centennial Middle School is a place where “kids are first.” As principal of Centennial Middle School, I am proud of the school’s achievements. Centennial is an outstanding school with high achieving students, an accomplished veteran instructional staff and a distinctively supportive parent community.
Centennial is a neighborhood school that embraces all learners. A variety of teaching strategies and numerous curricular choices are provided in an atmosphere of respect, responsibility and safety. Keeping class size small is a priority at Centennial. We provide a rigorous academic curriculum and a broad elective program supported by technology that offers opportunity for all students to reach their fullest potential. We take great pride in preparing students for high school in conjunction with educating students about our Values of Respect, Responsibility, Safety, Empathy and Integrity.
Centennial’s success is the result of a long-standing, cooperative, working partnership between our school, parents and community. Centennial values ongoing communication and has an open-door policy. Centennial has opened our Student-Parent Portal which provides families with home computer access to grades, assignments, attendance, schedules and more. Parents serve on site-based governance committees and provide substantial support in our health room, lunchroom, and state-of-the art library. They also volunteer for various school-related activities and promote student learning within the classroom. Parents are integral partners at Centennial Middle School.
Centennial students are among the top in Colorado. As a community, we celebrate the successes of all students. The most recent CSAP results gave us much to celebrate. Students exceeded the state and district average in all areas. We continuously work to improve the instructional program offered to students. Centennial’s veteran staff deserve a lot of credit for the continued high achievement of our students. Many events and honors occur at Centennial on a daily basis that are worthy of our praise. Centennial has received awards and recognition for academic excellence in the following competitions: History Day Competition, Colorado Math League, Math Count, National Geography Bee, Spelling Bee, Daughters of the American Revolution essay contest, Brain Bowl, Junior Solar Sprint, Science Fair, Creative Communications Essay Contest, National French Exam and Poetry Contest. We are proud of our students’ accomplishments.
I personally invite you to visit our school, to talk with the staff and to get an even better indication of how well we are educating our students. I am as proud of this staff as you are of your child. Great things happen daily at Centennial Middle School.
Our doors are open to you.
Cheryl Scott, Principal
