Centaurus High School Students Excel on 2009 Advanced Placement Exams

LAFAYETTE – Congratulations to the 2009 Centaurus High School AP Scholars! The College Board’s Advanced Placement Program offers students the opportunity to take challenging college-level courses while still in high school, and to receive college credit, advanced placement, or both for successful performance on the AP exams. The College Board recognizes several levels of achievement based on students’ performance on these exams.

Benjamin Black, Alexander Carr, Drew Dondelinger, Michael Palone, Rowan Sauer and Eric Taylor achieved the AP Scholar with Distinction Award by earning an average grade of at least 3.5 on all exams taken and grades of 3 or higher on five or more of these exams.

The following students received the AP Scholar with Honor Award by earning an average grade of at least 3.25 on all exams taken, and grades of 3 or higher on four or more of these exams: Katie Hendrickson, Hannah McCallum, Tyler Oliver, Benjamin Scambos and Cristina Smith.

The  AP Scholar Award—achieved by completing three or more exams with grades of 3 or higher—has been given to  Brendan Armstrong, William (Quinn) Franklin, Kyle Harvey, Harrison Higgins, Lauren Hurst, Daniel Kay, Emma Kinzie, Trevor Luke, Evelyn Masoner, Conner Matheney, Neal Matosky, Elizabeth Pancoast, Mark Stahl, Sara Stiehl, Benjamin Thomson, Shelby Tisinai, Benjamin Torres and Ian Wallace-Moyer.

Of this year’s award recipients, several were juniors and still have this academic year to possibly earn another AP Scholar Award. CHS is proud to recognize the outstanding achievements of these students.
