LAFAYETTE: Peak to Peak High School is proud to announce that three students from the class of 2010 have qualified as National Merit Scholar Semifinalists! The three students are: Katherine Lawrence (Louisville), Dylan Guderian (Boulder), and Michelle Shu (Broomfield).
This recognition is based on PAST scores from last October. Nationwide, just over 16,000 semifinalists were named from over 1.5 million juniors who took the PSAT last fall. They are now eligible to apply to become National Merit Finalists and compete for scholarships. Notifications will be sent to finalists in February 2010.
Seven students have been named Commended Students. They include Walker (Evan) Casey (Lafayette), David Chen (Broomfield), Lucas Corley (Lafayette), John Johnson (Boulder), Ford Mulligan (Broomfield), Katherine Smith (Westminster), and Jessica Xu (Broomfield). Based on their PAST scores last October, these students are among approximately 34,000 Commended students throughout the nation.
Although they will not continue in the 2010 competition for National Merit Scholarships, they are being recognized for their exceptional academic promise.
Congratulations to these fine Peak to Peak students and all those high school students in BVSD who earned this honor.
