BVSD Regional Winners for 2013 Scholastic Art Awards


BVSD student artists won 62 awards in the regional Scholastic Art competition this year, with 25 Gold Key Winners and 12 Silver Key winners. Additionally, the Art Institute of Colorado awarded scholarships to two Boulder High students – Natasha Bawn and Kyle Havlick.

The Gold Key winners now go on to compete at the national level where they may win cash grants, special financial aid consideration, and an invitation to the Gala Ceremony held at Carnegie Hall in New York City. The full list of BVSD winners is below.

The winners' work will be on exhibit at the Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design (RMCAD) from February 14 - March 6 in the Philip J. Steele Gallery, Rotunda Pavilion and Alumni Gallery. The Scholastic Art Awards provide the rare opportunity for middle and high school students who excel in the arts to truly be recognized and explore the possibilities of pursuing art in higher education.

The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards is coordinated by The Alliance for Young Artists & Writers, a not-for-profit organization. Since the well-known publishing house Scholastic founded the program in 1923, more than 13 million of America’s most talented teens have participated in the Awards.
