Open Enrollment period
We will be having an open house for all of our families and prospective parents to visit our school. There will be tours of the school with the principal, visits to kindergarten classes and other goodies. Please let anyone interested know about this opportunity.
The dates for tours (beginning at 9:00 a.m.) will be Tuesday Dec. 1, Thursday Dec. 10, Tuesday Dec. 15, Thursday Jan. 7 and Tuesday Jan. 12.
We will also have meetings and presentations by teachers on Wed. Dec. 2 at 6:00 p.m. and on Tuesday Jan. 12th at 3:30 p.m.

We changed over our phone system at the school. Our school’s new main office number is 720-561-2500! The old number will remain in effect for a few months while we transition to the new number. If your child will be absent, please call the attendance line at 720-561-2502. The fax number is 720-561-2501!!
BVSD Board approves additional $2 million for Columbine construction
At the November 10 School Board meeting, the Board approved the recommendation from the Citizens' Bond Oversight Committee to supplement the budget for the new Columbine construction by an amount not to exceed $2 million. This is great news for the school! The total budget for the new facility is now $14 million, which will allow for the construction of a 4-round (4 classes per grade) school with 26 classrooms to support an enrollment of up to 550 students. This means Columbine will be able to meet existing needs and also continue to grow. If the additional money had not been approved, the budget would have allowed only a 3-round school with a capacity of 450. Construction on the new building is scheduled to begin in 2010, with a projected Fall 2011 opening.

La junta Directiva del Distrito de Boulder aprobó los extra $2 millones de dólares para la construcción de la escuela Columbine
En la reunión del 10 de noviembre, la Junta Directiva del Distrito de Boulder aprobó la recomendación de los ciudadanos para suplementar el presupuesto para la construcción de la escuela nueva para Columbine, esta cantidad no puede sobrepasar $ 2 millones de dólares. ¡Esta es una gran noticia para Columbine!
El presupuesto total es de $14 millones de dólares, para la escuela nueva. Esto le dará a Columbine la oportunidad de servir a nuestra comunidad actual pero a la mis ma vez, darnos la oportunidad para crecer. Si los $2 millones de dólares no hubieran sido aprobados, nada mas hubiéramos podido tener 3 salones para cada grado, con la capacidad de para solo 450 estudiantes. La construcción del nuevo edificio comenzara en el año 2010, con una proyección a terminar y abrir para el otoño del 2011.
