1st Grade Teacher Biographies
Shannon Gamble
Shannon Gamble has been teaching since 2005 and part of the
Sanchez staff since 2008. A native of
Peoria, Illinois, she moved to Colorado in 1998 to attend the University of
Colorado. After graduating with a BA in
English Literature, she spent time as an AmeriCorps volunteer in BVSD. During this experience, she discovered a
passion for education and returned to CU earn a MA Elementary Education.
Outside of work, Shannon is usually spending time with her
husband, Jon, and dog, Homer. Together
they enjoy biking, hiking, camping, cooking, traveling and discovering new
places.
Terri Mitchell
Terri
Mitchell has been teaching since 1993 and is so excited to be part of the
Sanchez Family. She began her teaching career in Southern California, where she
was born and raised, and has been teaching in the Boulder Valley School District
since 2001. She received her Masters Degree in Multicultural Education from CU
Boulder in December of 2006. In 2007, she became recognized as a National Board
Certified Teacher. She believes that you can always learn new things and hopes
that her young students will develop a desire to become life-long learners as
well. Her
favorite things to do with students is to read stories, explore math, creative
writing, and help nurture each child's inner passion and
joy.
This
year, Terri is working as a first grade literacy block teacher and also the
International Baccalaurette Coordinator for
Sanchez.
When she is not working with students you can see her out riding her
bike, walking her dog or cheering on her husband, Jason who is a world class
athlete. She enjoys traveling, camping, painting, photography and hanging out
with her friends and family!
Mrs. Mitchell wants to thank the all students,
families, and staff of Sanchez Elementary School for their dedication and
commitment to making our school the very best it can be. She believes that
Sanchez is a fantastic place to learn and getting better all the
