3rd Grade Teacher Biographies
Nicholle Moreno
The 2009-10 school year is Nicholle's fifth year teaching 3rd grade at Sanchez.
Nicholle is a native of the Broomfield area, graduating from Legacy High School. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Adams State College in Alamosa, Colorado. Currently she is working on her Master's degree in English as a Second Language (ESL).
Nichole is married to the March 2009 "9-Teacher Who Cares", Lorenzo Moreno. They enjoy doing things together - including working on their Master's Degrees together. Nicholle loves to ski, take walks, dine with friends... and TRAVEL!!
Tom McSheehy
This will be Tom’s third year of
teaching at Sanchez. Before coming to
Sanchez, Tom taught for 18 years in Oak Park, Illinois. He taught 16 years of fourth grade and 2
years of third grade. Tom has a
Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and Master’s Degree in Social Work.
He is both a licensed teacher and social worker in the state of Colorado. Tom was nominated for the Illinois Golden
Apple Teaching Award in 2003.
Tom moved to Colorado from Illinois
because he loves nature and wanted to live closer to it. He has a passion for educating kids about
social and emotional intelligence, about multiple intelligences, and about
protecting and taking care of our earth.
Over the years, his students have saved over 85 acres of rainforest land. Tom loves to play and watch sports, hike and
camp in nature, listen to music, garden, make movies, be creative, and play
with his dog, Charlie.
