Kindergarten Teacher Biographies
Kim Dukart
Kim is originally from North Dakota. She grew up on the outskirts of a small town named Zap! She lived on a farm and went to a small school there until her senior year in high school. The school closed due to a dwindling population and she finished her senior year of high school in a nearby town. She graduated from University of Mary in Bismarck, North Dakota with a double major in Early Childhood Education and Elementary Education in 1996.
Kim taught preschool in Bismarck, North Dakota at the United Tribes Tech College and then took a job in Fort Yates, North Dakota on the Standing Rock Sioux Indian Reservation for three years. She taught kindergarten and loved learning about the culture of the Lakota people along with the children. She enjoyed the opportunity and challenges of working with children who were less fortunate than others.
Kim moved to Colorado in 2000 and began teaching in Fort Lupton. She taught preschool and kindergarten there. In 2005, Kim came to Sanchez Elementary as a kindergarten teacher once again. She is delighted to work in a program that fosters the growth and development of kindergarten students in a full day setting.
Kim has two sisters whom she loves dearly. She enjoys taking pictures, scrap booking and baking in her free time. Kim has a husband named Henry. He is also from North Dakota and the baby of a family of ten! They have two dogs and love to hike and spend as much time together as they can.
