Congratulations
Bear Creek Elementary School!!!!

The 2006 No Child Left Behind- Blue Ribbon Schools were officially announced on September 22nd by the United States Secretary of Education Margaret Spellings. I am pleased to announce that Bear Creek is one of five schools from Colorado that has been selected as a 2006 National Blue Ribbon School.
The No Child Left Behind—Blue Ribbon Schools Program honors public and private K-12 schools that are either academically superior in their states or that demonstrate dramatic gains in student achievement. Bear Creek was selected by the Colorado Department of Education to apply for the award based on its academic achievement over the past several years. Several teachers and the principal completed the application, which was endorsed by the Superintendent of Boulder Valley Schools, Dr. George Garcia, and sent in for consideration.
Along with other Blue Ribbon Schools, Bear Creek will be honored at a ceremony in Washington, DC, on November 9-10. Two staff members from each honored school will be invited to the ceremony, where the schools will receive a plaque and a flag signifying their NCLB-BRS status.
Congratulations are in order for the entire Bear Creek community! It is truly because of the collaborative effort of students, staff and parents that we are able to achieve such positive results at our school.
