Eisenhower Elementary

Eisenhower Community Members,

I have been mentioning that Eisenhower has to develop three budget cut scenarios to turn into the district by March 12^th.  We had to come up with  2.25, 5.25 and 8.25% cuts to our school budget.  The district revised the “buckets” we were able to cut from and the amount of the school cuts increased to a range of $36,663.00 to $134,429.00.  The entire staff has met and carefully gone over what we felt were the “best” scenarios in a very difficult situation.  We have come up with three plans and some alternatives.  I will present these plans to the PTA Executive Board which serves as our School Improvement Team on Wednesday night.  I will hold an Eisenhower community meeting to discuss our school’s cuts on Tuesday, March 9^th from 6 until 7 in the library.  I will detail what we were able to deal with and what we were not able to touch.  I will also have a partial list of how these cuts will impact the operation of the school.  I will not have too much on specific district cuts and will not be able to discuss them in much detail. 

District level cuts will be announced at the school board meeting on the 9^th.  I will not know all of those amounts until they have been shared with the board.

These are difficult financial times and tough decisions have to be made.  We are trying our best to keep our service to our students at the highest level possible.  Please join me on Tuesday, 3/9, to discuss our budget cuts and what they mean to the school.
