Heatherwood Impact Month BenefitsHeatherwood Impact Month

Heatherwood Impact Month is the primary fundraising event of the school year. Heatherwood Impact Month is an opportunity for parents to make direct cash contributions that support important programs and activities that enhance our childrens’ learning experience and creates a stimulating academic environment. 47% of the PTO budget will continue to be used to fund para-educators, which helps to reduce the student-teacher ratios.
Heatherwood Impact Month benefits EVERY student at Heatherwood. This year’s suggested donation is $185 per student.

Grocery Store Certificates
Have You Heard …

King Soopers, Safeway, and Sunflower Market will donate 5 cents to Heatherwood for every dollar you spend in their store!

This money adds up quickly…and becomes valuable resources for our children. If every Heatherwood family purchased just $200 per month in grocery cards, the school would make over $25,000 dollars this year!

Remember…grocery cards can be used for more than just milk and eggs! You can buy ski passes, rent movies, buy prescriptions…anything you purchase at the grocery store, can be purchased with gift cards!

Please help us and participate in this painless program. Buy grocery gift cards to your favorite store from us. We sell them in $100 increments and accept personal checks, Master Card and Visa.

Grocery Gift Cards can be purchased at the Heatherwood office every day during school, sent home with your child, or delivered by a friendly neighborhood representative.

For more information, questions, or if you want to join our team contact Steph Cohen at steph7136@mac.com or (303) 516-1482.

SCRIP Gift Card Program

INTRODUCING…
Expanded Heatherwood Gift Card Program

The Heatherwood PTO is pleased to share some exciting news about our expanded gift card program.  It’s a way to raise money for the school, that works while you shop.  It works like our Grocery Certificate Program already in place.  Heatherwood families purchase gift certificates from participating local and national retailers (same ones you would buy right from the store) at face value and use them to earn dollars for the school.

Heatherwood families are able to generate revenue for the school through purchases we would make anyway.  Grocery, gas, clothing, entertainment, gifts and dining out dollars can make money for our school without you having to spend one additional penny.

An order form is attached.  We have condensed the list to offer mainly local retailers.  Please note that additional options are available at the following website, www.glscrip.com .  There is a space on the order form for any additional cards you may want to buy that are offered on the website, but are not listed on the order form. With the Holidays approaching, please keep in mind these cards are great for purchasing gifts, and make great gifts themselves.

In order to make use of these cards for the Holidays, please return your form by NOVEMBER 7.  This initial order can be picked up at the Holiday Bazaar on November 20 or in the school office anytime thereafter.

FAQ’s…

Who sponsors this program?
A company called Great Lakes SCRIP Center

How does it work?
The Great Lakes SCRIP (GLS) Company purchases large amounts of gift certificates from grocery stores, department stores, and other retailers such as Starbucks, The Gap, Home Depot and many more.  Because these certificates are purchased with cash up front, the retailers offer GLS a substantial discount.  Heatherwood then buys from GLS at a discount and resells them to our school families at full face value.  The discount (ranging from 1.5% -20%) is retained by Heatherwood as revenue.

Who benefits from this program?
Everyone wins…

  • The retailer gets cash up front and return business.
  • Heatherwood families get a great fundraising alternative with no selling and no additional spending.
  • Heatherwood makes $$.

Where do the SCRIP certificates come from?
GLS purchases the certificates directly from the retailers.  They are the same certificates if you went to the participating retailers and bought them yourself.

Can I use the certificates anywhere?
Yes, they are accepted at all participating retailer locations.

Can I redeem them online?
Some may be used online.  It is fast and easy to find out if your retailers does by checking on the GLS website, www.glscrip.com.

Is there an order minimum?
No

Is Heatherwood doing this just for the Holidays?
That is up to our school families.  If this program proves to be a success, then we’ll look forward to keeping it around.
