1.  I am a current employee out for the summer.  How do I access my e-mail from home?

2.  I was or am an employee with the District and have been successful in accessing my e-mail, until recently.  I can no longer log in to Outlook OWA from home with my username and password.

3.  I keep receiving junk e-mail on my BVSD e-mail account.  What should I do with these e-mails?

1.  I am a current employee out for the summer.  How do I access my e-mail from home?

Go to the BVSD homepage at http://bvsd.org.  Hover over Quick Links in the top navigation bar, then select E-mail Access.  A new page will open displaying the Outlook OWA page.  You can log in using the same log in credentials (username and password) you use to log on to a BVSD computer.

2.  I was or am an employee with the District and have been successful in accessing my e-mail, until recently.  I can no longer log in to Outlook OWA from home with my username and password.

If your employment contract has ended recently with the District and you will not be continuing work with BVSD, your log in and e-mail accounts have been disabled.

If your employment contract has ended recently with the District and your new employment contract for the upcoming school year has not been entered into the HR system, your log in and e-mail accounts have been disabled.  Due to the fact that your new contract information has not yet been entered into the system, we are unaware of any future employment you will have with the District, therefore accounts are disabled for this reason alone.  If you would like to reactivate your account, please consult with HR to have your contract information entered into the system or have your supervisor request an override to your account by e-mailing the IT Support Center at it.support@bvsd.org with the request and verifying your employment for next school year.

If your employment contract has not ended and/or if you have a new and active employment contract and you cannot access your e-mail from home, you may need a password reset.  You can request a password reset from the IT Support Center at 303-447-5065.  You may also e-mail your request to it.support@bvsd.org.  Please be sure to include your full name and a phone number or a personal e-mail we can reach you at.

3.  I keep receiving junk e-mail on my BVSD e-mail account.  What should I do with these e-mails?

IT's e-mail filter typically catches most spam coming into the District, however due to e-mail spoofing, you may still receive some spam messages.  If you receive a junk e-mail on your BVSD e-mail account, please do not open it.  You may add the recipient to your blocked senders list in Outlook or simply delete the message.

To add a sender to the Blocked Senders list in Outlook OWA:
Right-click on the spam e-mail and select "Add to Blocked Sender's List".  This will block any email from the incoming addresses and move them to the Junk e-mail folder.

To add a sender to the Blocked Senders list in Outlook client:
Right-click on the spam e-mail, scroll down to Junk E-mail and select "Add to Blocked Sender's List".  This will block any email from the incoming addresses and move them to the Junk e-mail folder.

4.  I received an e-mail stating that my BVSD e-mail account is over the limit.  What do I need to do?

Users have a e-mail size limit of 100 MB.  If you have received this message you are close to or over your limit.  Once your account is over the limit you will not be able to send or receive new e-mail.

Generally, you can have thousands of items in your inbox without reaching your email quota.  What usually takes up the most space in your mailbox is attachments.  Attachments can be saved on the server and then removed from your mailbox.

Items included in your quota are located in Calendar, Deleted Items, Drafts, Inbox, Sent Items, Junk Email and any folders you have created within your mailbox.  Deleting any un-needed e-mails in these locations and emptying your deleted items will help reduce your mailbox size and keep you under your quota.

5.  I am working from home and want to change my e-mail password.  How do I do that?

Unfortunately, network log in and e-mail passwords can only be changed on a BVSD computer.  If you are needing to change your password prior to returning to work, you can request a password reset from the IT Support Center at 303-447-5065.  You may also e-mail your request to it.support@bvsd.org.  Please be sure to include your full name and a phone number or a personal e-mail we can reach you at.

6.  I am a current employee of the District, but I will be changing positions.  What will happen to all my files on the server?

Your files will move with you.  If you are moving to a new location (e.g., from one school to another), your file location will change to a different file server, however all your files will remain intact and you will have full access to them.

7.  I would like to access my server files (public and private folders) from home.  How do I do that?

Go to the BVSD homepage at http://bvsd.org.  Hover over Quick Links in the top navigation bar, then select EZ Access.  Be sure to review "How to use EZ access" and "Important Information" before you begin.

8.  I am a current teacher in the District.  When will I be able to see my gradebook and rosters in Infinite Campus for the 2008-09 school year?

Teacher access to the 2008-09 school year in Infinite Campus will be granted in August, close to the first day of school.

9.  I am a new teacher in the District and was told I need to access Infinite Campus (IC).  How do I do that?

Access to Infinite Campus needs to be requested by your school principal to the IT Support Center.  He or she may e-mail the request for access to it.support@bvsd.org.  We will respond back to their request and include a username and password for you to access Infinite Campus.  IT provides IC training to new and current employees.  Please check out Training for available trainings.

10.  I am a new employee.  How do I get a BVSD log in and e-mail account?

Once Human Resources receives all your employment paperwork (including a signed copy of BVSD's Technology Acceptable Use Agreement) and has entered you into the HR system, an account and e-mail will be created for you.

Your network log in and e-mail username will be your legal firstname.lastname and your temporary password will be your birthdate in the form of YYMMDD.  For example, Joseph Smith's username would be joseph.smith.  His birthdate is 3/21/64 so his temporary password would be 640321.  HR provides all new employees with information about how to log on to a BVSD computer and access your e-mail.  Additionally, your school's building technology contact or the IT Support Center can provide you with assistance.
