 Kudos to Ali Boyle

The annual symposium on Deafness, Language, and Learning was held this past weekend in Colorado Springs and our district was honored, once again, with recognition of our outstanding Program for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Students.  Our educational sign language interpreter at Fairview High School, Ali Boyle, was awarded the Educational Interpreter of the Year award by the Colorado Register of the Deaf .  She was nominated by peers and colleagues for her excellence in serving students in BVSD for over 20 years, as well as her leadership as the CDE Educational Interpreter Standards Coordinator.  The BVSD teachers of the deaf and her fellow interpreters have long recognized Ali's invaluable contributions to our students.  We are very proud she is the recipient of this well-deserved award!

Kudos to Eldorado K-8 Special Education Teachers

To the Learning Services Team at Eldorado K-8.....

Thank you for the amazing magic that you do each and every day for our children with special needs. Inclusion is a natural way of life at Eldorado due to your unwavering beliefs and unconditional acceptance for each and every student. Thank you all for honoring each child for his or her unique individual needs. With your strong sense of efficacy, all students at Eldorado K-8 are successful! I am humbled and honored to serve with you!
Applauding you from Hawaii--
Robyn Hamasaki :)

Our Eldorado K-8 Learning Services Team ensures each day, that our wider community of students, teachers, administrators and families remember to see the person first and the disability second. They have helped us all fully understand the capacity of all students to learn, grow and be successful in the regular education classroom. They never ever say, we cannot work with a student. They accept all challenges presented when new students walk through our doors, and put support mechanisms in place that seem seamless and always student-friendly. We are constantly amazed at their dedication, and learn so much from them every day. They are absolutely fabulous and we cannot thank them enough.
