Angela is one of two recipients of the 2016 BP Lincoln Teacher Leader Award. This award recognizes educators who have demonstrated outstanding skill as teacher leaders in Ford’s Theatre programs and within their profession. The letter of congratulations that Angela received from the Associate Director of Arts Education at Ford’s Theatre (Washington, D.C.) noted that her “application was truly impressive. We appreciated your perceptive response to how being a part of the National Oratory Fellows program has affected your teaching practice, and your plans for the future of oratory in your school. The letters of support from your administrators and students truly reflected how much of an impact you have had on those you teach. “As the national recipient of this award, you will be officially recognized and called to the stage during the Monday, May 2nd National Oratory Fellows culminating event. We request you prepare to deliver brief remarks to accept and acknowledge the award. We would also like to record a performance of the speech you prepared for the National Oratory Fellows May Retreat. The recording will take place in the Distance Learning Lab of our Center for Education and Leadership, for upload to our Oratory Playlist on Ford’s YouTube channel. Please let me know if you have questions about this opportunity. We will confirm the time and date for the recording with you in the coming weeks."
