Selected by Colorado Department of Education as Highly Effective School Library Program Schools







These three teacher librarians were notified by the Colorado Department of Education that their school libraries have been selected as Highly Effective School Library Program Schools. This award is given to only a few schools in Colorado each year.
Among the program components that the state assessors noted as being impressive were:

• Kelli Chynoweth at Douglass demonstrates “great collaborative efforts” and has “not only integrated digital literacy and research skills, but [is] working with teachers to develop projects and lessons that move beyond traditional research projects.”
• Jonathan Georgitis at Centennial shows strong "involvement in formative and summative student assessment and the collaboration and technology integration" within the school.
• Regina Hoskins at Southern Hills maintains a “comprehensive digital collection” and has an “amazing ability to integrate technology tools in collaboratively planned lessons.”
 
The Highly Effective School Library Program provides lifelong learning opportunities while supporting all schools as they strive to improve student achievement and prepare students for 21st century success.
