Getting a New BVSD Account

Step 1, make sure you qualify for a BVSD Account. See the Who Qualifies for an Account? section below.

Step 2, submit a signed copy of the Acceptable Use Policy (Uso Apropiado Imprimible) to the district. (You will not be granted an account until the district has a signed copy of the AUP on record).

Step 3, fill out an Account Application Form and send it to our IT office. The AUP is NOT an application for an account.

You are also required to be familiar with all associated Policies relating to Technology Use current in the district.

Who Qualifies for a BVSD Email & Network Resources Account?

The rationale for the policy of granting Internet accounts in all areas is the following:

Boulder Valley Internet Access is designed specifically for the academic and administrative work of the Boulder Valley Schools. Any BVSD account should be used to support these functions. People who use their accounts otherwise are subject to revocation of privileges.

Students: Any student enrolled in BVSD student may have their own Internet account. The account is to be used for work directly related to school work. Students being home schooled who live in the BVSD district may also have an Internet account through BVSD. Enrolled students must apply for an Internet account through school.

Staff: Any current BVSD employee may have an Internet account. The account is to be used for work related purposes only.

BVSD Teachers On Leave: Teachers on an approved leave of absence may maintain their Internet account for professional development purposes only.

Student Teachers: May have accounts while they are teaching in Boulder Valley classrooms only.

Substitute Teachers: BVSD does not give accounts to substitute teachers unless they are a long term sub for a teacher using the Internet.
