Paraeducators at Title I Schools must satisfy the following two requirements to meet the mandates of No Child Left Behind.
1. Basic Skills
- Two years of college - 48 credits from an accredited institution of higher learning
OR
- An associate's degree from a community college or university (not a technical school)
OR
- Pass the ACT WorkKeys test in math, reading, and writing

2. Instructional Skills
- Hold a teaching certificate

- Participate in four instructional skills classes offered by BVSD: Instructional Strategies, Literacy, Math, ESL Methods
