BVSD Bike to School Day became a "rolling" event
Thursday, April 18th - 25th, 2013
BVSD students and staff cooled the Earth by walking and biking with friends to school on a day between April 18th and April 25th.
Over 3400 students and staff joined the fun by registering for BVSD Bike to School Day 2013. They all received a free school lunch, coupons and a chance to win prizes. The school with the highest percentage of participating students and staff was Eisenhower Elementary with 57%. They
were awarded an all school Twirl yogurt party on May 14th. Over 400
kids and staff snacked on chocolate, watermelon, strawberry, and coconut
yogurt with toppings galore! A big, big thank you to Twirl! Close behind were Bear Creek in second and Crest View in third place.
Bike to School Day registration is closed.
Thanks for biking + walking!

Grand Prize for the all-district raffle was a brand new bike. A student from Crest View Elementary won this fabulous prize! Her mother wrote,
"Since Kindergarten, she and her older brother have biked or walked to school every day, year-round, no matter the weather, and she is proud of this feat, and will be very proud to have a new bike (that is not a small, beat up hand-me-down)! Thank you, Tim, for your generosity! "
Kaia is now riding a sleek new bike!
Thanks again to Tim Shea, owner of Pedal to Properties who generously donated the new bike.
The staff grand prize was a family entry for the Boulder Nites Classic - a fun family bike ride that takes place on Saturday, August 3rd, 2013. A teacher from Summit Middle School won this fabulous prize, which was also donated by Tim Shea the owner of Pedal to Properties. Thanks again Tim!
