​2018-19 Unified Improvement Plan Strategies


​Secondary Schools

1. Social Emotional Learning: As part of our equity work, schools will support social and emotional learning practices for students by adopting at least one universal strategy that fosters school connectedness and/or positive relationships through a culturally responsive lens for all students and families.

2. Data-based Problem Solving and Decision Making: Schools will use data as part of the Multi-Tiered System of Support process. Schools will continue to use data (student achievement, grades, student climate survey) to examine universal practices.

3. Literacy:
a. Each K-8/middle school will build capacity for smooth implementation of the READ Act and its integration into the district MTSS process.

b. Schools will implement at least one, and up to three, Cross Content Reading Strategies


Elementary Schools

1. Social Emotional Learning: As part of our equity work, schools will support social and emotional learning practices for students by adopting at least one universal strategy that fosters school connectedness and/or positive relationships through a culturally responsive lens for all students and families.
    2. Data-based Problem Solving and Decision Making: Schools will conduct data cycles and use data to guide instruction and document student progress towards reading growth goals.
      3. Literacy: Schools will participate in professional learning about and use newly adopted learning materials within the BVSD  literacy instructional framework.
