Like all school districts in Colorado, Boulder Valley School District is governed by an elected Board of Education. The Boulder Valley Board of Education has seven members who each represent one of seven different districts throughout the geographical area of BVSD. Each member serves one four-year term per election up to a maximum of two terms or eight years total service.

This fall, four of Boulder Valley School District's seven Board of Education seats will be up for election, including two that are open due to term limits.
The Board of Education is pleased to announce the dates of the community interest sessions for those of you who may be interested in running for school board. We will be hosting three sessions this month and all events will be held at the BVSD Education Center, 6500 Arapahoe in Boulder.
Wednesday, March 15th at 11:30am (includes lunch; interpretive services upon request) - RSVP only
Wednesday, March 15th at 5:30pm (interpretive services scheduled) - Drop-in available

During the sessions, Board members will be on hand to share insights and to answer your questions about board service. They will provide information about the district, requirements to become a board member, school board election process, and what it is like to serve on the board.

\We host “live” public participation during the 6:00pm regular meetings. You may choose to speak in person at the Board meeting, or you may choose the virtual option utilizing Google Meet. The Board allows a maximum of 60 minutes of public comment. Additional speakers may address the Board at the conclusion of the business agenda. All comments will become part of the permanent record.
Your request to speak at the meeting must be made prior to 12 p.m. on the day of the meeting by completing the Request to speak during public participation form (English) or Solicitud para hablar durante la sesión de participación pública en la reunión del Consejo de Educación (Spanish). If you have questions for the Board Secretary, you may call 720-561-5114, or email firstname.lastname@example.org. As with normal public comment, the first and last names will be included with an individual's Public Comment.
