REVENUES FROM LICENSING OF SCHOOL FACILITIES
The Board authorizes, as a service to the communities where its various school sites and facilities are located and as a source of revenue to the School District, may license the use of its sites and facilities for the installation, maintenance, and use of communications, radio, and other similar equipment owned by third-party entities.
The School District shall exercise this licensing authority in its sole discretion and shall require at all times that such use protects the health and safety of students, staff, and community members as well as the aesthetics and structural integrity of all sites and facilities.
This policy creates no right of access or use by any entity. Any entity seeking use shall apply and submit to the School District Department of Operations the following:
- Survey and legal description of proposed site.
- Design drawings and representations showing height, area requirements, and location of proposed equipment.
- Detailed description of the equipment proposed to be installed and the improvements to be constructed on the site.
- Detailed description of the environmental, compatibility, and aesthetic impact of the proposed installation and construction on existing School District use.
- Proposed sources of electrical power, telephone connection, and any other necessary connections.
If the School District approves the application, then a written agreement with appropriate terms protecting the School District’s interests must be entered.
