RESOURCES MANAGEMENT AND USE

The Superintendent or designee shall establish practices and procedures for the effective management and control of the School District’s materials and equipment. Practice and procedural elements shall include a continuous inventory list of equipment, maintenance records for major items, and records of materials and equipment that are assigned to students or staff members for personal use.

Good resources management balances the economy of centralized purchasing, efficiencies achieved in having supplies, equipment and parts readily available, and available storage and distribution facilities.

School District materials and equipment shall not be loaned or leased to employees for non-school district related activities or to outside agencies, groups, or individuals except upon the authorization of the appropriate administrator under the guidelines and practices of Community Use rental agreements.

When facilities are leased in accordance with Board Policy, use of School District materials or equipment – except for elements normally considered part of the facility itself – will not be permitted except for rare instances when, in the judgement of the appropriate administrator, such uses are justified. An additional fee may be charged if appropriate and consistent with Board Policy and School District guidelines.
