The Colorado Department of Education recently announced its annual awards for 2025 and 29 Boulder Valley schools were among those honored.
Nine BVSD schools received the Governor’s Distinguished Improvement Award for 2025. This award celebrates schools that demonstrate exceptional student growth. On the school performance framework that is used by the state to evaluate schools, these schools "exceed" expectations on the indicator related to longitudinal academic growth and "meet or exceed" expectations on the indicator related to academic growth gaps.

2025 BVSD Governor’s Distinguished Improvement Awards

26 BVSD schools received the John Irwin Award in 2025. This award is given to schools that demonstrate exceptional academic achievement over time. These schools received an Exceeds Expectations rating on the Academic Achievement indicator of the School Performance Frameworks reflecting exceptional performance in Math, English Language Arts, and Science.

Four BVSD High Schools also received the High School Growth Award in 2025. This award recognizes high schools that "demonstrate the highest levels of students’ academic growth in reading writing and math."
