UPDATE (September 12 at 4:30 a.m.): According to the Colorado Department of Transportation Colorado, Boulder Canyon (Colorado Highway 119) has reopened after rock slide clean up. Bus routes that utilize the canyon will run normally.

On Monday afternoon the Colorado Department of Transportation informed BVSD that Colorado Highway 119 is closed due to a natural rock slide following today's rock blasting

It will take some time to clear the debris. As a result, CO 119 will remain closed through the evening and potentially for several days.

Bus routes that utilize the canyon will be forced to reroute around the closure, resulting in longer travel times. Buses will be experiencing late arrival at the schools in the morning and late drop off times in the afternoon during this closure.

We are in close contact with CDOT and will provide updates as they become available.
