BVSD Childcare: Balancing Fun and Fundamentals

Randy Barber

You don’t need to look outside BVSD for quality care spanning from 6-weeks through middle school. Four Community School childcare programs provide the social and educational foundations that help kids make successful transitions at every stage of development.

According to Color Me Smart Preschool parent Emily, "It is a comfort to know that my children are cared for by high quality BVSD Childcare staff from their earliest days until middle school with the convenience of remaining in their school setting."

Early Connections Infant and Toddler Childcare (6 weeks to 3 years old)
Provide your little one a nurturing environment to explore and discover with other babies and toddlers. Engaging, experienced caregivers build relationships and provide quality early experiences. Stimulating play and age-appropriate activities support all areas of development.

Color Me Smart Preschool (3 to 4 years)
The leap to Kindergarten will be a breeze when your child comes in as a curious, well-prepared learner. Using the Creative Curriculum, our staff equips young students with pre-literacy and pre-math fundamentals along with providing opportunities for physical, social emotional and creativity development. After spending time in our preschool, they’ll be ready for a successful Kindergarten experience.

Kindergarten Enrichment (5 to 6 years)
Pair their half day of Kindergarten with play! Working cooperatively with others, kids will explore their world through child-driven enrichment activities. With extended opportunities to build social skills and a spark of curiosity and imagination, they will gain the tools to be a successful learner.

School Age Care (5 to 12 years)
Before and after the school day is the perfect opportunity for children to spend time with their friends and participate in structured activities, choice, STEM projects and enrichment. Wide varieties of activities promote life skills such as teamwork, problem solving, leadership and community service. On one of the 18 no-school days, head to an exciting Adventure Camp field trip at fun nearby locations featuring the arts, physical activities and educational opportunities.

Whether yours is a toddler or a teen, check out www.BVSD.org/childcare for all the options and details. Trust BVSD for all the care they need outside of the school day.
