Dear BVSD Families and Staff,
Tonight, Governor Polis signed an executive order suspending in-person learning in schools across the state until April 17.
This is not an easy situation for anyone and we understand the challenges this will cause for the families in our community. Trying to balance our jobs and taking care of our kids at home is no easy feat. I have been amazed at the power of our community to come together during this time and take care of those in our community who need help.
We have been monitoring this situation daily and are fully prepared to launch home learning for all BVSD students starting March 30. We have included details on this and several other important topics below.
Home Learning
Our team has been working this week with our teachers and principals on finalizing the expectations and resources for home learning. You can find details about the plan on our website, which you can access in the links below.
Testing Canceled
In additional news, yesterday, the Colorado Department of Education canceled all 2019-20 state assessments, including CMAS. CDE is working with the College Board on offering the SAT/PSAT exams. At this point, AP and IB exams have not been cancelled. We will continue to monitor this and will communicate with you once we have more information.
Food Distribution
Our Food Services team will be distributing food bags again tomorrow. If driving, please stay in your car and our team will bring food to you.

Social Distancing
We strongly advise our families and students to follow the recommendations of the state and Boulder County on social distancing to stop the spread of the coronavirus.
I will say it again, I thank you for your partnership in supporting our students, teachers, and staff through this difficult situation. The coming weeks will be a big adjustment for all of us, especially our students and teachers. We are fortunate to have an amazing team here in Boulder Valley Schools that is working tirelessly to ensure that we continue to support each and every one of our students during this time. We are stronger when working as a community, and I know we will get through this together.
