Happy Holidays, BVSD!

Happy Holidays
Rob Anderson, BVSD Superintendent

Dear BVSD Families,

Thank you for your patience and understanding this week as our community experienced unusually high winds that impacted our schools. I know this disruption—especially so close to Winter Break—was not how anyone hoped to begin the holiday season.

While this is the first time BVSD has been forced to close schools due to a high wind event of this nature, we recognize that similar challenges may arise again. We are committed to continuous improvement and will use the lessons learned this week to strengthen our plans moving forward.

I know many students, families and staff were looking forward to wrapping up the semester with traditional celebrations and a sense of closure (just not school closure).

We regret the uncertainty this week caused, along with the disappointment and stress resulting from canceled holiday parties and postponed finals.

We look forward to welcoming students back in the new year, on Tuesday, January 6.

As previously shared, secondary student finals originally scheduled for Thursday, December 18, will be held when students return on Tuesday, January 6. Finals originally scheduled for Friday, December 19, will be held on Wednesday, January 7. Specific details will be shared by our schools.

We recognize this is not ideal and sincerely appreciate your flexibility as we navigate this situation together.

Please stay safe today and throughout Winter Break, and may this holiday season bring joy, rest, and meaningful time with loved ones.
