Have a wonderful (and safe) Summer Break!

Rob Anderson, BVSD Superintendent

Dear BVSD Families,

As school lets out, I want to take a moment to thank everyone for making this an outstanding school year.

The Boulder Valley School District has a lot to celebrate as we kick off Summer Break.

First and foremost, join me in congratulating the Class of 2026. Watching our students reach this moment and receive their diploma is always inspiring and a reminder of what makes the Boulder Valley School District such a special place to learn and grow. Each graduate carries a unique story — filled with hard work, growth, perseverance, and unforgettable memories.

We’ve captured the special moment. Be sure to check out our graduation photo albums and archived livestreams.

Thanks to the hard work of our teachers and the support of our families, our students are achieving at the highest levels in our district’s history. From academic growth and achievement to postsecondary readiness and student support, our results continue to demonstrate what is possible when a community invests in public education.

Now it is time for rest, adventure, connection, and discovery. Whether your family is traveling, spending time outdoors, attending camps, reading together, or simply enjoying a slower pace, I hope the weeks ahead provide time to recharge and make lasting memories.

Thank you for your partnership and support throughout the school year. We look forward to welcoming our students back in August for another outstanding year in BVSD.

Have a fun, safe, and wonderful summer!

Safety First This Summer

Remember, safety doesn't take a summer break. And as always, we want to provide these important safety reminders.

More opportunities — and more responsibility over summer

As students spend more time at home and with friends over the summer months, safety advocates are reminding families to take extra precautions — especially when it comes to safe firearm storage. Securely storing firearms unloaded, locked, and separate from ammunition can help prevent accidents and save lives. Learn more on the BeSMART webpage about secure firearm storage. Also, check out the state resource

Safe celebrations for graduates

Graduation season is an exciting time for students and families across BVSD. As celebrations continue, we encourage everyone to make safe and responsible choices so that every celebration ends with loved ones returning home safely. Read more from the Boulder County District Attorney’s Office: Eliminate Impaired Driving, Including for Prom Night and Graduation Parties.

Summer strategies for student mental health

Summer break provides important time for rest and fun, but changes in routine can also be challenging for some students. Families are encouraged to stay connected, maintain healthy routines where possible, and check in regularly with students about their emotional well-being. Find more resources on our BVSD mental health webpage.
