During this time of uncertainty, we are asking Boulder Valley School District Families to help us get a better picture of next fall’s enrollment. Families with incoming kindergartners are encouraged to enroll as soon as possible.
Meanwhile, all returning families in BVSD, please fill out the Annual Data Update as soon as it becomes available in June.
This will give us a better understanding of who is planning on attending BVSD schools, so that we can ensure we have the right amount of great teachers and resources at the beginning of the school year. This is especially important considering the prospect of possible budget reductions facing school districts across Colorado and the nation.
Annual Data Update delayed to June
All returning BVSD families will want to be on the lookout in early June for the Annual Data Update. ADU allows you to review the data we currently have for your student(s) and household and update, as needed. This process also allows you to electronically complete and submit the Parent/Student Sign-Off Sheet from the Student Rights and Responsibilities Guide.
ADU will be available around June 10, 2020
While ADU is typically available in May every year, it was delayed this year as the Board of Education is in the process of updating several related policies this spring. As a result, we are expecting the 2020-21 Annual Data Update will be available on or around June 10, 2020.
Now is a great time to enroll your future kindergartener
If you or someone you know has a child that will be old enough for kindergarten next school year, encourage them to enroll their child in the Boulder Valley School District. ENROLL ONLINE TODAY The enrollment process is conducted online at www.bvsd.org/Enrollment. Be sure to have Proof of ID, residency and immunization to complete the process.
While you can enroll anytime between now and the beginning of school, right now is the perfect time to enroll – because it helps our schools and district get a better idea of who will be joining our kindergarten classrooms in August – ensuring that we have the right amount of great teachers and resources at the beginning of the school year.
While COVID-19 has closed our buildings, we are still encouraging prospective kindergarten families to reach out to the neighborhood school. While tours are not possible, our school leaders and staff would be happy to say hello, share information about the school and answer your questions.
Q: How old does a child need to be to enroll in kindergarten?
A: To be admitted to kindergarten in the Boulder Valley Schools, a child must reach his or her fifth birthday on or before September 30 of the school year they are enrolling into, or be admitted through early access.
