Another apparent case of swatting in BVSD

We want to let you know that law enforcement responded to Boulder High School and Boulder Preparatory High School this morning, following what appears to be another swatting call.

According to the Boulder Police Department, the CU Police Department received a call exactly like what they received a week ago today. 

Officers responded and both Boulder High School and Boulder Prep were briefly placed the school into SECURE. During a SECURE, students are brought indoors and staff ensure that doors are locked, but activities, including learning, continue as normal inside. Once police were able to confirm that the call matched what had been received a week ago, the SECURE was lifted. 

Again, this is the second time that we’ve received this type of threat in the past week and given examples in other parts of the country, it is possible we may receive more in the future.

We will be working with our law enforcement partners to continue to ensure that students and staff are safe, while doing everything possible to avoid causing unnecessary panic and concern.
 

 Otro caso aparente de swatting en el BVSD

Queremos informarles que la policía respondió a la Escuela Preparatoria Boulder esta mañana, luego de recibir otra llamada aparente de swatting.

Según el Departamento de Policía de Boulder, el Departamento de Policía de CU recibió una llamada exactamente igual a la que recibieron hace una semana.

Los oficiales respondieron, y tanto la Preparatoria Boulder como Boulder Prep entraron brevemente en una alerta de PROTEJAN. Durante PROTEJAN, se lleva a los estudiantes al interior y el personal se asegura de que las puertas estén cerradas con llave, pero las actividades, incluido el aprendizaje, continúan normalmente dentro del edificio. Una vez que la policía pudo confirmar que la llamada coincidía con la recibida hace una semana, se levantó la alerta de PROTEJAN.

Nuevamente, esta es la segunda vez que recibimos este tipo de amenaza en la última semana y dados ejemplos en otras partes del país, es posible que recibamos más en el futuro.

Trabajaremos con nuestros socios en el departamento de policía para continuar asegurándonos de que los estudiantes y el personal estén seguros, mientras hacemos todo lo posible para evitar causar pánico y preocupación innecesarios.
