The Board of Education has chosen the superintendent search firm that will find Boulder Valley School District’s next leader.
Following a lengthy process, which included in-person interviews and reference checks, directors came to a consensus, choosing Ray and Associates to conduct the search for BVSD’s permanent superintendent.
The company was selected from a group of three finalists who presented to the Board on October 4. While the procurement process in BVSD is typically confidential, the process was largely conducted in open meetings, giving the public transparency into the process.
The search comes after the Board's decision in March 2017 to terminiate the contract for previous superintendent, Dr. Bruce Messinger. In June, Dr. Cynthia Stevenson was named by the board as an interim superintendent for the 2017-2018 school year.
Ray and Associates is now expected to launch a nationwide search for a superintendent. During their interview with the Board, they said that they intend to provide opportunities for BVSD community input to ensure they find a leader who will best suit the district’s needs.
BVSD will continue to provide updates, as this process takes shape.
