The Boulder Valley School District remains steadfast in its dedication to educating each and every student and ensuring they and their family feel safe and welcomed, regardless of their race, gender identity, legal status or any other factor.

Serving all students is not only one of our school district’s core values, it is a constitutional right. Our children are guaranteed equal access to education and protections from discrimination.

On Tuesday, December 10, the Boulder Valley School District Board of Education unanimously passed Resolution 24-36 -- Supporting Students and Families, reaffirming this stance.

In the resolution, the Board shared that BVSD will "do everything in its lawful power to protect our students and families," including the following measures:

  • Continuing its practice of NOT collecting or maintaining any information about our students' or their families’ or guardians’ immigration status

  • Handling all requests from immigration officials centrally to ensure that the district’s values and policies are followed in every case

  • Protecting all students, including those who are LGBTQ+, from discrimination, harassment, bullying and hate speech

  • Supporting any students who may feel they and their families are at risk

We will be posting the resolution in our school buildings and are making it available in a variety of languages used by our families:
