The RTD’s Zero Fare for Youth pilot program will run through the summer until August 31, 2024. This means students can continue to enjoy free rides on all RTD services, including buses and trains, throughout the summer break. If you are heading out of town, keep in mind that service to DIA is also included.

The Zero Fare for Youth program is a fantastic opportunity for our students to travel freely across the region, whether they’re heading to summer activities, jobs, or simply exploring new places. Here are some key details:

  • Eligibility: All youth aged 19 and under.
  • Validity: Free rides on all RTD services until August 31, 2024.
  • How to Ride: Simply board any RTD bus or train and enjoy your free ride! Your driver may ask to see a school i.d. if you look close to 19
  • Use the RTD Trip Planner to figure out which bus(es) will get you where you want to go.

This program not only supports students' independence and mobility but also encourages the use of public transportation, contributing to a more sustainable community.

The BVSD transportation department hopes to hear an announcement this summer from RTD if the program will continue for the 24-25 school year.

For more information about the program and to plan your trips, please visit the RTD website.

We hope BVSD students make the most of this incredible opportunity!
