Thankful, now more than ever

Happy Thanksgiving BVSD
Randy Barber

Dear Boulder Valley Families and Staff,

As Thanksgiving Break approaches, let us pause for a moment to consider all that have to be thankful for – even during this unusual holiday season.

Despite the many impacts of this ongoing pandemic – I feel incredibly fortunate to be here in Boulder Valley, living in an amazing community and leading an outstanding and dedicated team here in Boulder Valley School District.

Despite the many challenges this year has dealt, all of our educators are doing everything possible to support students during this challenging time.

I’m incredibly appreciative to our families for their unending patience and support they have provided to their children.

I feel blessed that we have such resilient students who continue to drive their learning forward, despite a situation that we mourn, because of all it has taken from our kids and families.

Finally, I am grateful for a community that has come together to support each other through these difficult times.

We are all in this together and we can make a difference, if we all step up. Wear a mask, keep our distance, and limit our activities to members of our household for the rest of November. Beyond curbing the spread of the disease and saving lives, getting the COVID-19 situation back under control is what it will take to return students back to in-person learning.

While it is saddening that this won’t be a typical Thanksgiving, let’s make the most of this break and take a moment to remember all that we have to be thankful for, even now.

Rob Anderson
