Planning and Engineering

The Planning and Engineering office is primarily responsible for analyzing enrollment trends and providing information related to enrollment projections, demographic trends, economic trends, school capacity and new housing constructions to assess future capital facility and programming needs. This office also manages school attendance boundaries, oversees the acquisition and disposal of BVSD real estate, and coordinates with other local governments on land use matters. 

Facility and Land Availability

Pursuant to CRS 22-30.5-104, the school district does not anticipate that any vacant or underused buildings or land will be available during the 2019-20 school year.

Cash-in-Lieu Payment (Erie)

BVSD Fair Contributions for Public Schools Cash-in-Lieu (CIL) Payments for Town of Erie

Step 1: Go to:

Step 2: Select the “Erie New Housing Fee – Cash-in-lieu” button on the middle row

Step 3: Enter the proper payment amount according to the following (payments can be combined into one entry):

  • Single-Family Detached per Unit - $970
  • Duplex or Triplex per individual Unit - $846
  • Townhouse per individual unit - $347
  • Condominium (owned) per individual unit - $347
  • Apartment (rented) per individual unit - $589

Step 4: Enter property address, Lot & Block number and name of development (multiple property entries can be entered; please use a separate line for each address/lotblock).

Step 5: Checkout and pay through the secure credit card system.

If all information has been submitted correctly (especially the property address, lot/block number, and development) along with the correct payment, the receipt will be forwarded to the Town of Erie building department for their records. This receipt will be used by the Town as confirmation of payment towards obtaining your building permit. Please allow 24 hours to process.
