COVID-19 Transportation Plan

BVSD is currently planning to start the 2020-21 school year in Phase 3 of our reintroduction plan. In this phase, and in alignment with COVID-19 orders from our county and state health agency partners, we will not be able  to provide bus transportation for all eligible riders.

To this end, we strongly encourage families to transport their own students to school or make alternative arrangements. Visit our Safe Routes to School page for tips on:

Riding the School Bus This Year

In alignment with COVID-19 orders from our county and state health agency partners, school bus capacity will be limited. As a result we will not be able to provide bus transportation to all eligible riders. Additional bus safety protocols have been developed and are described in our Getting to and from School by Bus Safely Guidelines.

BVSD is working to maximize the number of riders we can transport. We are planning bus capacity based on the allowable two students per seat, per public health guidelines. We ask all transportation eligible families to log into Infinite Campus and confirm or decline if they will need bus service by August 7th, 2020.

Only students with completed opt-in forms on Infinite Campus will be considered for transportation.

Completion of the opt-in is not a guarantee your child will be able to ride the bus. Please do not send your student to the bus stop unless they have a confirmed seat on the bus.

Approximately a week before school starts, bus stop locations and times will be posted on Infinite Campus, for students with confirmed seats on the bus.

If your student rode the bus last year, please hang on to your student's access pass to use when bus transportation resumes. This will be an important safety tool to know exactly who boarded and exited the bus. Parents can track their students scans by downloading the Z Pass+ app.

Please note that the Space Available application process has been suspended for the 2020-21 school year due to capacity limitations on schools buses this year.

All the Ways to Go

The Boulder Valley School District encourages its students, families and staff to consider alternative transportation options. It is good for our physical and environmental health.
