Fireside Elementary School

 About Our School

Fireside is a neighborhood school serving the Louisville community. As a "Fireside Family" we believe strong relationships are fundamental to supporting the growth and development of every child. This includes partnering with teachers, administration, parents and our community in order to provide the very best educational experience for our students – parent and community participation in our school is encouraged and valued. Our mission at Fireside is 'To celebrate and challenge the unique potential in every child, value, honor and utilize individual differences, and to create an environment that promotes a community of learners and nurtures the natural curiosity and wonder within each of us.' At Fireside, we celebrate the diversity of our student population representative of approximately 17 different nationalities and enrolling approximately 500 students from preschool-grade 5. We value the talent and expertise of our highly qualified staff. There is a high standard for ongoing growth and development at Fireside in order to meet the ever-changing needs of our students. Many of our teachers hold Masters and ESL Endorsements and some are nationally board-certified. A commitment to rigorous academic programming, authentic/hands-on learning experiences, innovative and adaptive instructional approaches, and attention to student's social, emotional and physical well-being are some of the principles inherent in our school. Our aim is to equip every child with lifelong skills, habits for learning, and a solid character foundation in order to become contributing citizens and inspired learners.
