National History Day in Colorado is a regional event emphasizing social studies and literacy. It equips students in elementary, middle, and high school with the skills necessary to succeed in careers and in college. Students participate in project-based learning that emphasizes critical reading and thinking, research, analysis, then drawing meaningful conclusions.  This competition is available for Middle School through High School. Please check with your Social Studies Teachers to find out if your school is participating. Check out Last Years Winners!

Final Logistics will be decided closer to the events date following health department guidelines.
Date: March 12, 2022.

Location: University of Colorado Boulder

Students can complete these projects in groups or as individuals in one of five categories: documentary, paper, exhibit, performance, or website. Regional winners compete at the State Contest in May on the University of Colorado Denver campus. First and second place state winners compete in Nationals at the University of Maryland, College Park in June. Visit National History Day in Colorado for more details.
