Priority Deadlines apply to submission of CBG Agreements (required each semester). Students may submit paperwork after these deadlines if there is space and processing time available. The enrollment and approval process may take two or more weeks; please complete the steps below early. To receive tuition assistance and to have CU credits count towards high school graduation requirements, all requests must be pre-approved by the student's counselor/Grad+ Site Lead and the Career and College Connections Coordinator. How to Apply & Enroll

The "How to Apply & Enroll" link includes information about available scholarships for High School ACCESS, advising, the required CU MOU, proof of prerequisites and placement exams, applying for the College Opportunity Fund (COF - pays part of your tuition), how to sign up for courses, wait list protocol, and paying your bill. Students who are under 16 on the first day of the semester are required to meet with a CE Advisor after they have applied and each term they enroll.

A CU Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) form is required each term with signatures from the student, parent/guardian, and high school official. This can be accessed through the How to Apply & Enroll link above.

Step 2: Complete CBG Agreement

Complete the BVSD District 'College Before Graduation Agreement' which must be submitted by you and your parent/guardian. After the form is submitted, staff in the CBG office will contact your counselor for approval. The  CBG Agreement must to be completed every semester.

Step 3: District Approval

After you are approved, you will receive an email from the District letting you know that you have been approved and the required next steps. Please email CareerandCollege@bvsd.org if you are close to the deadline to apply and have not received an email. Check you SPAM folder first!

Step 4: Register for Classes

After your counselor has approved your course selection, you are responsible for working with the college, registering for the approved course(s), and paying the appropriate tuition and/or fees.

High School ACCESS Academic Calendar              

Turn in your course schedule to your high school counselor. Continue to communicate with your counselor and parents/guardian on your progress. We want you to be successful; if you are struggling with the course, let us know early so we can help you to find the support you need. 

IMPORTANT

• Buy your textbooks and pay any of the student fees required. 
• Login on the first day of the semester, regardless when your class starts
• Remember to check your CU email frequently. 
• The course syllabus that the teacher provides lists all of the reading and course assignments. Check the syllabus daily to stay on top of what needs to be done. Also, when the class is finished, save the syllabus in an electronic file - you may need it when transferring the credit to a university!

High school students with financial need may apply for a scholarship through CU Boulder. 

Financial Support

If you have specific, individual needs (i.e. 504 or IEP), you must contact CU’s Office of Disability Services to learn about how your needs will be met. Accommodations provided at the high school may not be allowed as reasonable accommodations at the college level. Please do this as soon as possible so that accommodations are in place when classes start.

For regular CU courses, BVSD will pay the local community college tuition rate of $169.10 per credit. The Colorado Opportunity Fund, COF, pays $116 per credit. NOTE: Is only applied if authorized by the student, otherwise the student is responsible for that cost.) This comes to $855.30 for a 3 credit hour class. Students and their family are responsible for the remainder of the costs including any learning materials, books and fees. Courses offered through CU Continuing Education may charge a different tuition rate and are not COF eligible. To learn if a course is Continuing Education, please read the Class Notes of individual sections when searching on the scheduling site.

Tuition and Fees     

GT Pathways courses, in which the student earns a C- or higher, will transfer and apply to GT Pathways requirements in AA, AS and most bachelor's degrees at every public Colorado college and university.
